Imogen to star in “Castle in the Ground”

Alex Wolff and Imogen Poots have been tapped to lead writer/director Joey Klein’s crime drama “Castle in the Ground“, which is being produced by William Woods via his Woods Entertainment banner and Michael Solomon of Band With Pictures. Production is currently underway in Sudbury, Canada.

The plot follows a teenager Henry who, after the untimely death of his mother, befriends his charismatic but troubled next-door neighbor Ana, who embroils Henry in a world of addiction and violence just as the opioid epidemic takes hold of their small town.

Andra Gordon of American Entertainment Investors, who developed the project with Woods and Solomon, will serve as executive producer alongside Tom Spriggs, Rob McGillivray, Ben Stranahan, George Stranahan, John Hansen, Mark Gingras, and John Laing. The pic marks the first project for from financing company Line 200, who financed the film along with Ontario Creates, NOHFC, and Telefilm.

Imogen Poots to star in ‘Prisoners of the Ghostland’

The post-apocalyptic action-horror is the first English-language film from Japanese auteur Sion Sono. Imogen Poots has joined Nicolas Cage in Japanese auteur Sion Sono’s first English-language feature, the post-apocalyptic action-horror film Prisoners of the Ghostland, which XYZ is shopping in Berlin. Patriot Pictures and Union Patriot Capital Management have also boarded the project, written by Aaron Hendry and Reza Sixo Safai, to produce and fully finance. Described by Cage himself as possibly his “wildest movie” ever — and this after his insane blood-soaked psychedelic 2018 hit Mandy — Prisoners of the Ghostland is billed as an “East meets West vortex of beauty and violence.”

When a notorious criminal, Hero (Cage), is sent to rescue an abducted girl (Poots) who has disappeared into a dark supernatural universe, they must break the evil curse that binds them and escape the mysterious revenants that rule the Ghostland.

The film — slated to start shooting this spring — is being produced by Laura Rister for Untitled Entertainment; Michael Mendelsohn for Patriot Pictures/UPCM; Ko Mori for Eleven Arts; Reza Sixo Safai of Black Light District Entertainment; and Nate Bolotin for XYZ Films.

A Late Quartet [HD Caps + Photos]

Hey all, happy new year! Since there are no new photos or news of Imogen, we thought it was time to go back to completing the photogallery. Today we added 2000+ HD screencaps from the 2012 film called A Late Quartet, where Imogen plays Alexandra Gelbart. This film, like the previous one we posted screencaps from, is also bittersweet, melancholic and music themed. The story’s about a string quartet that has wowed music-lovers with its skilled performances. However, as the musicians prepare to celebrate a milestone season together, a shocking announcement from one of the musicians changes everything. Imogen plays the daughter of one of the musicians, who wants to follow the same career path as her parents. Her role is decent, so if well acted life stories interest you, this film may be the right choice. The film also stars Christopher Walken, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Catherine Keener and Mark Ivanir. We also added 8 production stills and a poster to the photogallery. So take a look!

Greetings from Tim Buckley [HD Caps + Photos]

Jeff, a musician like his father, is asked to participate in a tribute for the latter, which leads to him going through a lot of struggle and mixed feelings as their father-son relationship was non-existent. Imogen’s part is substantial as she is Jeff’s love interest. If biopics interest you, you may enjoy this film. The film also stars Penn Badgley. We also added 120+ screencaps from the making of, 23 production stills (some of them exclusive), 1 behind the scenes photo and posters to the photogallery. I Kill Giants [New Stills]

Hey guys! We just added 2 new high quality stills from Imogen’s upcoming film I Kill Giants directed by Anders Walter also starring Zoe Saldana. Take a look! We’ve seen this film and it’s absolutely wonderful! If you want to see it as well, it’s available for purchase in BluRay and DVD or you can stream it on Amazon Video and Itunes.

Based on the comic-book series, the fantasy adventure (in theaters March 23) centers on a 12-year-old girl named Barbara Thorson (Madison Wolfe) who escapes from her real life and chaotic household into a Dungeons & Dragons-like world where she’s the only one who can stop coming giants from rampaging all over her town. The line between that fantasy and reality begins to blur, and her school psychologist Mrs. Molle (Saldana) takes an interest in helping Barbara, an outcast among her peers.

Friday’s Child [Stills + Trailer]

More Imogen news lovelies! The first 3 production stills and the official trailer for her upcoming film Friday’s Child are here so be sure to take a look! This film certainly looks interesting, can’t wait to see it!

After making an impression at the SXSW Film Festival earlier this year, A.J. Edwards’ “Friday’s Child” is gearing up to compete at the Shanghai International Film Festival later this month. IndieWire is celebrating the occasion with the exclusive debut of the film’s trailer, which is the kind of visual jaw-dropper moviegoers should start expecting from Edwards.
“Friday’s Child” stars Tye Sheridan as Richie Wincott, an 18-year-old fresh out of foster care who becomes the prime suspect in a botched robbery. Wincott’s mission to avoid being captured by the police and the arrival of a stranger threatening to reveal his past (Caleb Landry Jones) cause problems for his budding romance with an unlikely friend (Imogen Poots).Edwards started his career as a disciple of Terrence Malick, working on “The New World,” helping cast “The Tree of Life,” and serving as an editor on “To the Wonder,” and he made a name for himself as a director with his breakout debut “The Better Angels,” which debuted at Sundance in 2014. Edwards has had a front row seat to Malick’s new age style and he shows he’s capable of channeling a similar artistic voice in the “Friday’s Child” trailer. Both Sheridan and Poots are no stranger to Malick’s style having starred in “The Tree of Life” and “Knight of Cups,” respectively.

Check out the production stills and watch the official “Friday’s Child” trailer below.
