Imogen Poots, Interview InStyle Magazine - March 08
By InStyle Magazine UK
March 2008
"This reminds me of the Pre-Raphaelites", says the delicately poised Imogen Poots, twirling around in a Prada dress, right. Part of the new generation of Brit acting talent, the 18 year old has already starred with Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta, in the blood fest 28 week later and most recently as Jane Austen's niece Fanny in Miss Austen Regrets. Yet it's art not drama that has stolen her heart. "I'm fascinated by art history," she says, explaining why she's studying art at university. "I want to add another string to my bow."
London born and bred ("I like my British identity"), Imogen describes her upbringing with her journalist dad and writer mum as "intellectual", so it's not surprising that the actresses she admires are brainy. "Olivia Williams is phenomenal," she says of her Miss Austen Regrets co stars. "She's a great actress and has a degree from Cambridge. Natalie Portman managed to combine acting with uni to, I think that's amazing."
Not that there's a whiff of blue stocking about Imogen. "I love fashion," she says. "I'm a huge fan of dresses and always add accessories." Her favourite outfit today ? The Armani number. "My wardrobe is all about neutrals," she says, "so I love this look. Ooh and i have a pair of dungarees covered with paint splatters that I love to wear, only in the house, mind! You can take the girl out of art school...Niki Browes Miss Austen Regrets will be on BBC1 later this years. >
